Anger...

It's 3:00 am on a Tuesday night and it's the third time in a row this has happened. I'm up, I'm sweating, and I'm angry again.

"We like to think that we are rational beings; humane, conscientious, civilized, thoughtful. But when things fall apart, even just a little, it becomes clear we are not better than animals. We have opposable thumbs, we think, we walk erect, we speak, we dream, but deep down we are still routing around in the primordial ooze; biting, clawing, scratching out an existence in the cold, dark world like the rest of the tree-toads and sloths." - M. Grey

Changeling

HD Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmhzFHr_ZPk

Over the summer I had hours and hours of free time to myself and discovered an amazing website that enabled me to watch movies for free. (In good quality I might add.) So, I did what any true movie-goer would do. I googled the Academy Award nominated films for the past five years and went on a rampage. One movie particularly stood out to me. Angelina Jolie was never what I considered an actress of "quality". Her roles seemed to play into the desires of a highly sexualized industry, so I disregarded her as another Megan Fox or Demi Moore. This film, however, gave her an opportunity to play a character that really existed (which I feel is one of the most difficult tasks for an actor/actress). Jolie nailed it. The cinematography was far from your average "back in time" flick; it was a journey into the real issues of one of our country's most conflicted time periods. The raw, unparalleled authenticity of each character in the movie kept me at attention the entire time. Check it out.

Insouciant

Our word of the day is INSOUCIANT.

  • Main Entry: in·sou·ci·ance
  • Pronunciation: \in-ˈsü-sē-ən(t)s, aⁿ-süs-ˈyäⁿs\
  • Function: noun
  • Etymology: French, from in- + soucier to trouble, disturb, from Old French, from Latin sollicitare— more at solicit
  • Date: 1799

: lighthearted unconcern : nonchalance

Insouciance. Remember when it was so easy to be nonchalant? These days, we are all so flustered by the turbulent bustle of day-to-day living, that we often forget that it is okay to be INSOUCIANT for a few minutes. Those short moments should be spent tapping into our boundless imaginations and dreaming of superheroes, magic, monsters, laser beams, aliens, and epic battles.

Man on the Moon: The End Of Day

I endorse this album in its entirety. The fact that he reached out and did a song with MGMT (one of my favorite Indie bands) speaks volumes on his diversity as an artist. The album has a very "artsy" (I believe even uses that word in one of his songs) undertone. My guess is that Cudi is clever right-brainer. I firmly believe that he has single-handledly created a new, lucid genre that I like to call "Emo- HipHop". Creativity at its best. From the artwork to the lyrics...-The Fifth

Russian Roulette

I'm sitting here in the confines of my room, reviewing the dynamics of Wound Healing/Inflammation for my MedSurg exam on Monday, and my iPod Touch randomly shuffled to the song "Russian Roulette". As many times as I have listened to this song, I still have not yet come up with a viable meaning behind the lyrics. Maybe you will have luck:

It's Russian Roulette with no luck.
You can kiss it good-bye there's no such thing as sympathy when the disease is entering.
At first glance your instinct says "the stranger's a little dangerous"
The cat was killed the curious thrills now Christ has left the manger.

The taste is so divine.
A chemical coma life.

Welcome to your vice, good luck with life.
Cause you can't, you can't, you can't kill me that easily.

It's so nice to meet you, it's so nice to know you.
Now that your guard's down let me show you.
Superior rides from initial highs now come back to haunt you.
Your craving's beg the stranger's hands for a taste that so familiar.

The taste is so divine.
A chemical coma life.

Welcome to your vice, good luck with life.
Cause you can't, you can't, you can't kill me that easily.
What will you decide when you're out of time?
Cause you can't, you can't, you can't kill me that easily.

The battle you picked was so one-sided.
Now dependent on me the one you invited.
Beg, plead, scream for redemption, for forgiveness.
Beg, plead, scream sorry I'm not listening.

Welcome to your vice, good luck with life.
Cause you can't, you can't, you can't kill me that easily.
What will you decide when your out of time?
Cause you can't, you can't, you can't kill me that easily.

The Realm...

I was inspired by a dear friend to begin a chronicle of my experiences. From this day on, I will do my best to accentuate a world many can not understand....
